- Measure and record abiotic factors
- Record flora and fauna observed during fieldwork and identify introduced species
- Observe evidence of cycles in the ecosystem
- Complete food chains relevant to the ecosystem
- Consider ways that the Dharawal people sustainably managed the ecosystem
- Observe animals as relevant to the ecosystem, e.g., bird watching, dipnetting for macroinvertebrates, invertebrate search, crab search
