Information for coordinating teachers

Payment

Please collect the $25/student (GST free) partifcipation fee at your school. We will initiate an Interschool Journal after the event to collect participation fees.

Medical and additional needs

Coordinating teachers must communicate medical and additional needs to the EEC prior to the program, via the student nomination form.

Students, staff and visitors must not attend if unwell, even with mild symptoms (payment can be refunded if a student cannot attend due to illness).

Permission to publish

Please indicate via the student nomination form if parents/carers have given permission to publish to the Department of Education.

Supervision

The program is run by NSW Department of Education teachers who will provide supervision for all students throughout the day. Participating schools are welcome to send a teacher to assist on the day but this is not a requirement.

9:00 am - 3:00 pm (All students must be signed in and out by a responsible adult. Any medication must be handed to the activity coordinator on arrival).

Description:

Your child has been invited to attend Inspired by Nature, a visual arts enrichment program in the creative domain for high potential and gifted public school students in Year 3 and 4, on [insert date].

The program will be facilitated by NSW Department of Education teachers at the Royal National Park Environmental Education Centre. Students will explore the local environment, learn art theory, and produce a range of ephemeral and permanent artworks.

From the Princes Highway turn into Farnell Avenue. Proceed past the toll booth. Turn left 250m past the toll booth into the circular car park. Walk to the EEC (demountable green school buildings) following the signs (between carpark, National Parks office and road).

Transport:

Parents/carers are responsible for transport to and from the Royal National Park Enviornmental Education Centre. Carpooling encouraged.

Payment of the $12 park entry fee is not required when dropping off and picking up students (note if you choose to stay in the park for the day you will need to pay $12 park entry).

Dress code: Sports uniform and sturdy, closed-in walking shoes.
Food: Students must bring their own food and drink (lunch and recess). We encourage low waste, e.g., resusable containers, no plastic wrap.
Please bring: Medication (if required). Refillable water bottle. Hat. Sunscreen. Backpack. Paint shirt or large t-shirt to protect clothing.
Additional Information: In the event of extreme weather or bushfire conditions, the program may need to be cancelled. In the case of cancellation, schools will be contacted and news will be posted on the Royal National Park Environmental Education Centre Facebook page.
