Fieldwork excursion costs
Department of Education schools
- 1-2 classes (max 60 students): $9 per student (GST free)
- 3 classes (max 90 students): $11 per student (GST free)
- 4 classes (max 120 students): $13 per student (GST free)
- 5 classes (max 150 students): $16 per student (GST free)
- 6 classes (max 180 students): $20 per student (GST free)
- 7 or more classes: please contact us to discuss
Our fees depend on the number of classes attending an excursion. The Centre has an allocation of two teaching staff. The cost of additional teachers for larger groups is included in the costings above. All groups must satisfy the DoE Sport Safety Guidelines for Bushwalking and maintain a 1:15 adult to student ratio (e.g., one of our teachers and one of your teachers supervises each group of up to 30 students).
Bookings depend on teacher availability. We prefer a minimum of six weeks or one term’s notice.
We will send your school an interschool journal after the excursion. Fees are GST free. Please see the note below regarding the additional GST inclusive National Park entry fee.
Non-government schools
$600 per class (GST free)
National Park entry fee
$1.10 per student (GST inclusive)
This fee is payable for excursions that take place in the Royal National Park. The Office of Environment and Heritage (National Parks and Wildlife Service) will invoice you separately after the excursion. You do not pay this entry fee if you come to the park by public transport.
In-school incursion costs
Department of Education schools
- from $10 per student (GST free) for Bush Christmas and Easter Bilby
- from $5 per student (GST free) for all other incursion programs
