Factors that shape places
Geography
Students investigate the factors that shape places through an in-depth geographical study of Wattamolla in the Royal National Park. Using fieldwork tools and the geographical inquiry process, they explore how natural and human influences impact this popular coastal site and consider strategies for its sustainable management. Students take part in hands-on activities such as field sketching, measuring weather conditions, observing wildlife, and completing a GPS geocache challenge. This immersive experience builds geographical skills, environmental awareness, and a deeper understanding of how people interact with and protect natural places.
Book during whale season (peak June-July) for an opportunity to whale watch.
