Living things change

Science and technology

A bright green tree frog perched on a thin brown branch against a soft blurred background of green and yellow hues.

Students explore how living things change as they grow through hands-on investigations in the natural environment. They observe the life stages of animals by dip-netting for water invertebrates and searching for land invertebrates, investigate plant growth by examining and comparing seed pods, and use natural materials to model life cycles. Through these engaging, hands-on activities, students develop their understanding of living things and their connections to local habitats while practising scientific observation and investigation skills.
